Winter activity day

We had a winter activity day in our school in order to provide young kids to have fun with snow. Yr 12 and yr 13 had to have an activity on that day. Students thought of some activities that they could do. There were drawing on the snow, obstacle course, quiz and movies. But I decided to take photos of activities so that I can provide pictures to yr 13 for uploading CAS blog.

Firstly, I started with the inside activities. I took some photos of students who were giving free cocoas and free biscuits to other students and teachers. Then I went outside and took photos of obstacle course, drawing on snow, and also some activities from yr 12. After break time, I went to the gym and also took some photos and videos.

After all activities have finished, yr 13 tried to clean up the mess outside and inside. I helped people cleaning up some stuff used for the activities. Moreover, some students tried to remove snow from the road so that people can walk safely. I took some photos of them as well. At home, I uploaded photos that I took to the IB 13 group on facebook so people who need for their cas could use them.

From this activity,
I have undertaken a new challenge because I have never tried to take photos for others. Also since I cleaned up the mess with other students, I worked collaboratively with others. At last, I have developed my skills and also increased awareness of strengths because I felt confident in taking photos more professionally after this activity.

Baby sitting

When my parents went to the company meeting, I had to take care of kids of other my dad's companions. Therefore, I had to spend time with them for a day.
There were 3 boys and 4 girls all around 9 years old. Firstly, I had to feed them so I ordered some food from a restaurant and they ate themselves but sometimes I had to make them quiet or prevent from playing games. After they finished eating, they wanted to go out and play hide and seek. So I went out with them and played with them. It was a hard work to run as much as them but I tried to enjoy it.
When the meeting was almost finished at 8 or 9, they had to go home. So we said good bye to each other and hoped to see each other again.

From this activity, I undertook a new challenge because it was the first time I tried to take care of kids. I also considered ethical implications to the kids because I had to bear all their manic behaviours and words. Moreover, I developed my skills when I take care of kids. As it was the first time, it was quite hard for me to adjust with them but after the day, I feel more confident in taking care of kids.

Making a handmade bithday card

For celebrating my friend's birthday I tried to make a card with birthday wishes. I made a layout to have a envelop and 4 including letters with bookmarks. I printed out the layout for the envelop and made it with a red paper. Then I tried to put my Korean friends's face into teletubbies's faces since there are 4 Koreans in yr 13 and I thought that I will be a good combination. These were for the bookmarks. Then I printed out the photoshopped work. I used yellow papers for the writing paper. For each paper I put the each teletubby on the top of the writing paper. After finishing making the letter I wrote a letter to him and other friends also wrote some birthday wishing words to him. Then on 8th of March, I gave the letter to him with a present and I assume that he liked it :)

From this card making, I planned the activity and initiated it by making a layout for the actual card. Moreover, I also showed perseverance and commitment since making this card took about 2 hours to complete. And finally I also believe that this activity helped me to develop new skills because I tried to make a card by hands on my own.
